Eyebrows and More

I am enjoying a silent house right now. I love this silence. I must admit that I am catching up on my TV shows in the background. I've always been a multi-tasker of sorts. Oh, and I am doing the laundry as well.

My hubby took our son out with his parents and called me on the phone and said, "Would you mind if we give you some time to yourself today and we're going to go antiquing? Do you feel left out?" Ummm....no! Ah, the silence that I haven't experienced in a really long time. The ability to just type on the computer, watch TV, and just do whatever my little heart's desire.

In a couple of hours there is a free Zumba class at the local gym, which I most certainly am going to attend. I haven't been as diligent about working out as I had expected. Another round of illness and colds, but this week I have started to regain my strength and started feeling like my old self again.

About a month ago, I tried again to go to a mom's group that I've been a member of but have never attended any events. I was kind of wimpy about it-I invited a friend and another mom that I know through a local Mom's Board. It was an Eyebrow Party. I have always been afraid of pain and I explained to the mom who was performing the eyebrow shaping that I am a major wimp. She replied, "Well, you have kids, right?" I explained that I have one kid. I nervously watched her as she put hot wax on the eyebrows and quickly ripped away the hairs. None of the moms screamed. Finally, I decided that my eyebrows were in desperate need of shaping. She was also offering an upper lip/chin special, but she did warn me that the upper lip area stings more than the eyebrows. I decided to just have the eyebrows done. I had my huband take a before picture and when I have a chance, I'll upload an after shot. Afterwards, I couldn't stop admiring my new brows and was so glad that I was brave and had them done.

It is so nice to do simple things like eyebrow waxing, enjoying the quiet of a Saturday, and the prospect of a workout on a Saturday afternoon.
p.s. I see now the double chin and definitely will be going to the gym this afternoon.

I hate to hear that you are still battling illnesses but it's good to hear you got a break and had a nice Saturday. I too am struggling with getting back to the gym regularly. I keep hitting a day here and there but not enough to sustain good health. I'll keep trying if you will!

I am so glad to hear your got a little "yourself" time. It's not easy but you sure sounded like you enjoyed it, needed it and appriciated it. It's good for Nathan too. I'll be looking forward to seeing the after picture.

We are feeling much better-thank you! Still haven't gotten any more workouts in, but this Saturday I'll be chasing a toddler around at an Easter Egg Hunt. I will keep trying and promise to get up the after photo soon before my eyebrows grow back. :)
