Kate
I apologize that I haven't been as diligent as I wanted to be about updating my blog. I think about doing it often and actually it's been on my list of things to do for weeks. With the illnesses (which are still lingering for my son), it's been much harder.
Before I got sick, I went and saw Kate Gosselin in person. I was so excited when I heard that she was coming to talk and was coming to speak. I know that many people dislike her, but I have to admire a woman who can run a smooth household with 8 kids.
She wasn't a phenomenal speaker-she arrived after a big snowstorm here and joked, "You people actually live here in this?" She sat down and talked about being pregnant. She also talked about her husband losing his job when she was pregnant because his employer was small and knew that they couldn't handle the medical bills. Apparently, they pursued suing the company but because his employer was so small it was in fact legal to terminate him so that the company wouldn't go bankrupt. She talked about not being thrilled finding out that they had seven babies (one didn't survive) until Christmas when she feared that something was going wrong with her and she called the story and her babies the Christmas miracle.
What I find interesting when I meet moms and other people is how my perspective has changed. I learn so much from different moms that I meet. They are all so unique and different. Some teach me of the kind of mom I wish I could be. Some moms show me the kind of mom I don't want to be.
It was just amazing to get out for a couple of hours sans baby, see someone who I often watch on television and admire for her organizational/running household skills.
I promise to write more blogs and of more substance. Just a little rusty from not blogging much!
The picture was taken with my camera from way back!
